Audioscape Developer Privacy Policy
Updated: July 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Audioscape, Inc. ("Audioscape," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses personal information in connection with developer.audioscape.ai, the Audioscape application programming interfaces, and the related developer tools, dashboards, and documentation (the "Developer Service").
This policy covers developers and other registered users of the Developer Service. It does not cover Audioscape.ai or Bloxtunes.co, which are subject to separate privacy policies.
We are a "controller" of the personal information described here for purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("EU GDPR") and the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR"), which apply when we offer the Developer Service to individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
1. Information We Collect
Registration information. You register for the Developer Service using your Roblox account. Through Roblox's authorization process, we receive your Roblox User ID, Roblox username, Roblox display name, Roblox avatar picture, and Roblox profile link. We do not receive, and do not otherwise collect, your name or email address at registration. Because we do not hold an email address for you, account and service notices are delivered through the Developer Service console.
Communications. If you contact us by email or chat, or sign up to receive announcements, we collect the information you provide.
Automatically collected information. When you use the Developer Service, we automatically collect your IP address and approximate location derived from it, browser type, user-agent string, device and operating system information, API requests, response times, errors, and other interactions with the service. Our servers generate session logs recording the pages you visited, the date and time of those visits, and the referring site or application.
Usage information. We collect and store information about your use of the Developer Service, including API call volume, endpoints accessed, and audio metadata generated by our systems.
2. Player Data
The Developer Service reports on activity by players in Roblox experiences. In connection with the Developer Service, we do not collect, store, or transmit player names, email addresses, physical addresses, telephone numbers, payment information, or precise geolocation.
The only player identifier we store is a Roblox User ID, retained in encrypted or cryptographically hashed form. We maintain a targeted deletion capability and will delete a player's stored identifier and associated records upon a verified request received from Roblox or from the applicable player, within thirty (30) days.
Analytics, sentiment, and reporting made available to a developer reflect only that developer's own experiences and are presented in aggregate. We do not make one developer's experience-level data available to another developer.
Our data practices are designed to align with the Roblox Data Stewardship Principles.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Developer Service;
- create and administer your account and authenticate log-ons;
- generate audio metadata, analytics, charts, and aggregate reporting;
- monitor API usage for security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and performance;
- communicate with you about your account, including service and transactional messages;
- respond to your questions, requests, and support enquiries;
- enforce our Developer Terms of Service and protect the rights and property of Audioscape, our users, and third parties;
- develop and test products and services; and
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to register you, operate your account, and provide the Developer Service.
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the Developer Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and develop our products, balanced against your rights and interests.
- Consent — for marketing communications, where required.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information with:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf, including Amazon Web Services (cloud hosting and infrastructure) and Umami (analytics). These providers are bound by contract to process information only on our instructions. We will update this policy before engaging a payment processor.
- Professional advisors, including legal and accounting advisors, under duties of confidentiality.
- Legal and safety recipients, where we determine disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to investigate a complaint regarding your use of the Developer Service, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Audioscape, our users, or the public.
- Acquirers, in connection with any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, liquidation, or other disposition of all or a portion of our business, assets, or stock.
We may share aggregated and de-identified information, which is not personal information, with third parties for analytical, research, product, and marketing purposes, including in published charts and indices.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention
We retain personal information as follows:
- Raw API request logs and session logs — retained for up to seventeen (17) days.
- Account records, including your Roblox identifiers — retained while your account remains open. You may close your account at any time by sending a request to privacy@audioscape.ai. On a verified closure request we will delete your account records within thirty (30) days, except for information we are required to retain by law and copies held in routine backups, which are deleted in the ordinary course of backup rotation.
- Player identifiers — until deleted upon a verified request, or until the associated developer account is closed.
Aggregated and de-identified information is not personal information and is not subject to these retention periods. We may retain and use it indefinitely, including in published charts and indices.
7. Security
We take reasonable administrative, physical, and technical measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Developer Service.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information; to withdraw consent; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@audioscape.ai. We will respond as required by applicable law.
To close your account and have your account records deleted, send a request to privacy@audioscape.ai. Deletion is subject to the exceptions described in Section 6.
We do not make automated decisions using your personal information that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
9. California Disclosures
Do Not Track. We respond to Do Not Track browser settings.
Shine the Light. California residents may request information about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Send requests to privacy@audioscape.ai with "California Shine The Light Rights" in the subject line.
California Consumer Privacy Act. Audioscape is not a "business" subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
10. International Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to a country that has not received an adequacy decision, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable, and apply supplementary measures where appropriate.
11. Roblox and Other Third Parties
You register for the Developer Service using your Roblox account, and the Developer Service operates in connection with the Roblox platform. Roblox separately collects and processes personal information under its own policies, which we do not control. See the Roblox Privacy and Cookie Policy.
The Developer Service may contain links to other websites operated by companies unaffiliated with us. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Children
The Developer Service is intended for users who are at least eighteen (18) years of age, or who are acting on behalf of an entity, as set out in our Developer Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Developer Service.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Developer Service console or by notice on our home page. The date of the last update appears at the top of this policy.
14. Contact
